Established in 2011 by designer Kpoene’ Kofi-Nicklin, Mignonette Bridal is known for romantic, feminine designs for individualist brides. Chosen in 2017 as one of Brides Magazines' 38 best bridal salons in the US and in 2018 as one of the best bridal salons in Chicago, Mignonette is the destination for brides who want a personalized approach to bridal gown shopping.

Kpoene' Kofi-Nicklin

Creative Director Kpoene’ Kofi-Nicklin founded Mignonette in 2002 as a ready-to-wear label after graduating from Middlebury College. After moving to New York and starting the label she attended FIT and later became a retail and museum buyer, most recently at the Museum of Craft and Folk Art in San Francisco.  A passionate advocate for small businesses and the inherent feminism of the handmade movement, Kpoene’ is dedicated to upholding and preserving the traditions of fine dressmaking and heritage sewing techniques in her designs. A frequent contributor to Jezebel, Catalyst, and other online sites for free-thinking ladies, Kpoene’ was also a winner of a 2015 design grant from the City of Chicago and a 2014 Editor’s Choice Finalist for the Martha Stewart American Made Award. In 2017 Brides Magazine named Mignonette Bridal one of the 38 best bridal salons in the US as chosen by their editors, and Mignonette has been named one of Chicago’s best bridal salons and independent businesses by Racked, Daily Candy, and Refinery 29.  She is a mentor for the Chicago History Museum’s DesignNext Competition and a judge and student sponsor for the Driehaus Design Awards. In 2017 Kpoene’  graduated from the Goldman Sachs 10KSB Program for emerging business leaders. Since its first day, Mignonette has been featured in blogs and magazines such as Chicago Magazine, Crains, the New York Times, Huffington Post, Green Wedding Shoes, Junebug, Martha Stewart, Brides Magazine, Wedluxe, Style Me Pretty, and the Knot. Kpoene’ is dedicated to making all brides feel beautiful and welcomes brides of all sizes and stripes to her studio.
